Annual Events

St. Louis Alumnae Chapter has a number of signature events that happen every year. This is the place to find out more, especially if you haven't attended one in the past and want to know what to expect. We hope you'll join us!

Wine and Cheese Welcome

The Wine and Cheese Welcome is our signature fall kick-off event. An official Gamma Phi Beta "year" starts in August, just like a school year. Each September we hold this event to welcome our sisters to another year of alumnae activities. New members to the alumnae chapter are welcome to any event, but we especially welcome them to this one. This is a casual event held at a sister's home, where you can greet old friends and meet new.

Founders' Day Celebration

Each year on a weekend before or after the anniversary of our sorority's date of founding (November 11, 1874), St. Louis Alumnae and collegians from Phi and Gamma Tau chapters gather to celebrate our sisterhood. During this semi-formal event we recognize our 50- and 75-year members, announce annual award winners, and share in our ritual. Whether the event is a full meal (brunch or lunch), or more of a "high tea" format with heavy appetizers, this is one of our favorite gatherings. It is also one of the few ticketed and sisters-only events we hold.

Holiday Party

Each year in December sisters (and partners/husbands!) gather at the home of a sister to celebrate the holiday season. During this smart casual event you'll enjoy conversation, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks. (No gift exchange or ugly sweater contests at this party.)

Mother - Daughter Tea

For over 20 years St. Louis Alumnae Chapter has hosted an annual Tea on the first weekend after New Years' Day. Don't let the name deceive you! We encourage our sisters to bring their mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, or friend. Whoever you bring with you does not need to be a member of Gamma Phi Beta.

During this smart casual afternoon tea you will be among sisters and friends, enjoying hors d'oeuvres, desserts, tea, and our classic orange punch. We especially encourage collegians who are home on winter break to join us, as it can be a great way to introduce their moms or other special guest to our lifelong sisterhood.
